Ballet is getting a boost in the regions thanks to Telstra and the Australian Ballet, who have launched a program called ‘Let’s Dance’.

The program gives regional children a chance to experience ballet first-hand, letting them attend studio sessions to learn from distinguished teachers, watch dancers rehearse, and join special backstage visits.

Repetiteur Paul Knobloch says it only takes a little inspiration to spark something in young children.

“The program is basically aimed to inspire the next generation of young dancers and create further opportunities within the regions for beautiful young children who otherwise wouldn’t be too exposed to this kind of performance or dance opportunity,” Knobloch says.

The program will run in Port Pirie at the Youth Theatre at 4:30 pm today, and in Whyalla at D’Faces at 4:30 pm on Saturday, 29 June.
