A Kingscote man will attend Port Pirie Magistrates Court today after a police pursuit at Hallett yesterday, 27 May.

Around 12:40pm, Yorke Mid North officers were operating a static driver testing station on the Barrier Highway where the man was pulled over and breath tested.

When authorities asked to see the man’s licence, he attempted to drive off.

Patrols pursued the vehicle until it eventually stopped in Mount Bryan, where police seized a number of items from the car, including drugs and a knife.

The 32-year-old was arrested and charged with contravening a direction to stop, speed dangerous, dangerous driving to cause a police pursuit, carrying an offensive weapon, and driving while suspended.
