A significant tobacco seizure has been made in Port Augusta.
As part of Operation Eclipse, SAPOL has been targeting trucks used to ship illicit tobacco on major transport routes between warehouses and shops.
Last month, Port Augusta patrols responded to a collision on Commercial Road, where they located a truck that had left the scene parked in an alley off Mackay Street.
A search of the truck uncovered a large quantity of tobacco products, vapes and loose tobacco, with a total estimated value of $150,000.
The truck also contained tobacconist signage, shop fittings, price lists for displays.
The driver, a 44-year-old man, and his passenger, a 32-year-old man, both from QLD, were arrested and charged with money laundering.
