An $8.6 million investment included in the State Budget will see a Clinical Simulation Training Laboratory built at Port Pirie Hospital.
This is part of a new Multi Profession Simulated Training and Development Service.
Member for Stuart Geoff Brock has called it a state-of-the-art opportunity.
“This facility will provide an environment and all the equipment and things like that for development of not only the existing staff in the hospital, but it’ll also be able to train medical, nursing, allied health technicians, and other clinical students to undertake simulated training,” Minister Brock says.
Health Minister Chris Picton says the State Government is committed to investing in regional health care.
“On the back of a $12 million upgrade to the Port Pirie Hospital emergency department, this new Multi Professional Simulated Training and Development Service will ensure Port Pirie Hospital remains a leading provider of health services in the Upper Spencer Gulf,” Minister Picton says.
