The State Government is promoting investment in local hydrogen in a European trade mission this week.
The Government plans to build a hydrogen power plant, electrolyser and storage facility in Whyalla, with it looking to award contracts to operators in the second half of this year.
Premier Peter Malinauskas will deliver the opening keynote address at the World Hydrogen Summit in the Netherlands, followed by speeches at the World Energy Storage Forum and meetings with senior government ministers in Germany, the biggest player in European green hydrogen.
In a statement, Mr. Malinauskas said as countries across the world pursue decarbonisation, they’re getting increasingly interested in the state’s plans.
