Over the past two years, more than 120,000 pieces of graffiti have been reported statewide, costing ratepayers millions in cleanup expenses.
In Whyalla, the number of graffiti clean-ups for the 2023/24 financial year reached 41, a significant increase from just 17 the previous year.

In contrast, the Lower Eyre Peninsula council recorded the lowest number of incidents for the state, with only six pieces of graffiti since 2016.
Vandals caught and prosecuted could face fines of up to $5,000 or 12 months in prison.
