After almost thirty years, that’s right count them, thirty! The Mission Impossible franchise is coming to a close.

Tom Cruise is donning the mask of Ethan Hunt for one last Mission Impossible film, titled Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning. Paramount Pictures just this morning dropped the first official trailer for the 8th and final film.

After 30 long years of climbing skyscrapers, skydiving, hanging off plains and driving off cliffs, Tom Cruise has finally called time and the final entry seems to wish to finish on a high and with some of Cruise’s biggest stunts. I mean the trailer literally opens with Cruise hanging off a biplane so clearly the old dog’s still got it.

As the film serves as a part 2 to the previous entry, Dead Reckoning, I won’t go too much into the story to avoid spoilers (come on guys it’s been two years catch up!), but the film will deal with the consequences of where the last film ended and with the current projected end of the world that looms large because of it.

The film has a filthily stacked with cast with cast members both new and old! Mission Impossible – The Final Reckoning stars Tom Cruise, Hayley Atwell, Simon Pegg, Pom Klementieff, Hannah Waddingham, Trammel Tillman, Angela Bassett, and Nick Offerman.

Catch Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning when it leaps in theatres on the 22nd of May.
