Barry Keoghan Joins Cillian Murphy in Anticipated ‘Peaky Blinders’ Film

Barry Keoghan is set to join the cast of the eagerly awaited ‘Peaky Blinders’ spin-off film, alongside Oscar-winner Cillian Murphy. This Netflix production, following the success of the renowned BBC series, is expected to hit screens in 2025. The series, beloved by fans, originally ran from 2013 to 2022 and is set in post-World War I Birmingham, where Murphy’s character, Thomas Shelby, navigates the dangerous underworld of gangsters.

Keoghan’s casting was first reported by Deadline, with details about his role still shrouded in mystery. The talented actor received a Best Supporting Actor nomination at the Oscars and won a BAFTA for his role in Martin McDonagh’s acclaimed ‘The Banshees of Inisherin.’ Last year, he also garnered BAFTA and Golden Globe nominations for his lead role in ‘Saltburn,’ further establishing his reputation in Hollywood.

Alongside Keoghan and Murphy, the film will see the return of Rebecca Ferguson, creating excitement about the cast’s dynamic. The untitled project is written by ‘Peaky Blinders’ creator Steven Knight and directed by Tom Harper, who helmed several episodes of the original series.

Murphy expressed enthusiasm about returning to the iconic role, stating, “It is gratifying to be collaborating with Steven Knight and Tom Harper on this film. This is one for the fans.” With production slated to begin later this year, anticipation continues to build for this cinematic continuation of a beloved story.
